The film is based on a series of novels by Steven Gould but beyond the initial concept (a boy has the ability to teleport) most of the plot points are different. The film even left several plot lines open at the end in case more movies were to come: Diane Lane in a much bigger role, me thinks! Jackson and Hayden Christensen (of 'Star Wars' fame), is about a troubled young man who develops the ability to instantly 'jump' from place to place. JUMPER marks a great central idea crying out for a decent movie and. The new film, featuring the ubiquitous Samuel L. Harry Harrison must have been working with wormholes himself, because he puts no speed of light limitation on his matter transmitters, of the sort required by quantum teleportation. ![]() Good news in my eyes since I thought “Jumper” was the perfect set-up to a new franchise: it’s a smart action movie with mucho potential and had some truly killer special effects.
